Know the JEE Main 2015 Exam Structure

The Joint Entrance Examination for 2015 is scheduled for April 04, 10 and 11. The entrance exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with the objective of providing admission to students in engineering courses. The exam is conducted in two parts – JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students need to clear JEE Main in order to be eligible for JEE Advanced, clearing which they can get admission into IITs.

JEE Main Exam Structure

The JEE Main 2015 is divided into two papers, Paper 1 (B.E/B. Tech) and Paper 2 (B. Arch/B. Planning). Based on the course that students are opting for, they may appear for Paper 1 or Paper 2 or both. The examination is for 3 hours with a total of 96 questions.

The maximum marks that a student can obtain in the JEE Main exam are 360. For every correct answer, the student is rewarded 4 marks while for every wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted. The maximum number of attempts granted to a candidate for JEE Main are three.
